What is happening to GloriaFood
Oracle has announced that GloriaFood will be shut down on 30 April 2027 – online ordering, POS, payment processing and the partner programme. Since March 2026 Oracle has not entered into new direct contracts with restaurants. According to Oracle, data can be retrieved for 30 days after the contract ends.
Switch in time, not in April 2027
Switching just before the deadline is risky: ordering links on Google, social media and flyers have to change, regulars need to be told and the menu has to be moved. Plan the switch in a quiet period and let both systems run in parallel for a short time.
How switching to Akarien Direct works
Export your menu, import it into Akarien Direct via CSV and add photos and allergens. Pick a design, set delivery zones and fees and connect your domain. Then replace the ordering links in your Google Business Profile and on your website.
What is different
Akarien Direct is built for Switzerland: prices in CHF, TWINT, card or cash on site, menu and ordering pages in German, French, Italian and English, plus QR menu, table ordering, kitchen screen and receipt printers. Online payment via Stripe is in development – if you need online payment today, take that into account when planning.

GloriaFood was many restaurants' easy entry into commission-free online ordering. Because the service ends on 30 April 2027, a planned switch beforehand pays off. Akarien Direct offers the same principle – your own ordering channel without commission – with a Swiss focus and QR table ordering.
